Course description: - The course includes content from general sociology and its development, the main sociological themes and theories, and historical
reasons for the emergence of special sociology (with an emphasis on medicine and health care). Students will also meet
the following terms and their default content: - Socialization, - Social stratification and social inequality, -
Social mobility, - Social sub-systems (education, religion, culture, health ...) - Sociology and nursing, - The
environment, - Power and Politics, - Individual - collective, - Family, - Stigma, - Gender and health, -
Health and humanitarian organizations, - Migration, - Demographic changes, - Modern technologies. - Students
will become familiar with the concept of professions in health care, problems of professionalization of nursing, nursing position
in relation to other professions in health care, and basic legal concepts in the field of health and social policies, as well
as the complex interpretations of the role of patients.
