Course description: The subject involves the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes towards health information systems, their development, improvement, evaluation and management. The health care information system must cover the information needs of health care staff, administration and administration. It must provide timely and accurate information for the health care administration and staff in order to improve the decision-making process, promote patient care quality, improve the efficiency of procedures, control the use of institutional resources and capabilities, and support other organizations within the organization. Students will be familiar with the existing information systems in Croatia in various health segments with a strong critical view of their realization and use as well as the necessary infrastructure to achieve efficiency (classification, standards, data protection, etc.). The skills needed will be illustrated by examples through practical student work (development and use of electronic records, ie patient documentation) and through critical analysis of existing information subsystems in nursing-oriented healthcare.
