| Course description: Definition of terms public health, preventive medicine, the level and content of preventive activities. Terms and determinants
of health and disease. The principles of health promotion, the definition and implementation of health promotion programs.
Individual and community health. The influence of social factors on health. The public health challenges of our time. Load
disease. Mental health in the community, the impact of social and economic circumstances, stigma and prejudice. Maintaining
and improving health, risky behavior and impact on health outcomes. The organization and implementation of health care. Types
of Health Insurance in Croatia and the world. Measures of health care, insurance and control of the operation. Preventive
activities, criteria of efficiency and preventive national programs. Quality control in the implementation of health care.
Health literacy and the role of the media in public health activities and programs. Planning and evaluation of public health
programs and projects.
