Course description: General physiology: functional organization of the human body, homeostasis, transport through cell membrane, osmosis, membrane
and action potential, smooth and skeletal muscle contractions.
Heart and circulation: heart muscle physiology, heart as
a pump, rhythm and heart impulse conduction, basics of electrocardiography, hemodynamics, systemic circulation, regulation
and measurement of arterial pressure and minute volume of the heart, heart rhythm disturbances, circulatory shock, heart failure.
Body
fluids and kidneys: fluid changes through the capillaries, lymphatic system, volume and osmolality of body fluids, urine formation
mechanism, volume regulation and body fluctuations in the kidneys and thirst mechanism, acid balance regulation, kidney disease,
kidney failure, edema, acid-base balance disorders .
Diarrheal system: breathing mechanics, alveolar ventilation, gas
changes, pulmonary volume and capacity measurement, respiratory regulation, pulmonary disease, pulmonary edema, respiratory
insufficiency.
Probative system and metabolism: digestive system motility, digestion and absorption of food in the digestive
system, regulation of intermediate carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism, thermoregulation, fever, metabolic liver function,
diet balance, most commonly digestive system diseases.
Endocrinology, sex system and reproduction: endocrine glands, hormones
and their functions, mechanisms of hormone action, blood glucose control and OGTT, reproductive functions of women and men.
Most common endocrinological diseases and reproductive disorders.
