Course description: Sample quality and predanalytic variability in the hematological laboratory. Quality assurance in the pre-analytical, analytical
and post-analytical process of laboratory work. Methods for determination of hematological parameters and automation of the
laboratory process. Domes of hematologic analyzers (interpretation of "schetergrams", auxiliary graphs). Algorithms and boundaries
of decision in laboratory hematology. Interpretation of measured values and decisions on issuing findings (interferences,
reference intervals). Influence of therapy on hematological parameters. Differential blood - methods (light microscopy and
automated microscopy). Laboratory diagnostics of leukocyte line disorders. Laboratory Diagnosis of Anemia. Laboratory Diagnosis
of Thrombocytosis and Thrombocytopenia. Specifications of pediatric hematology.
Seminars: Influence of hemolysis, lipemia
and ernia on hematological parameters and corrective actions. Influence of drugs and chemotherapy on haematological parameters.
Pseudotrombocitopenije. Number of cells in body fluids. Relationship of hematological parameters with other laboratory tests.
