Upon completion of their 2nd semester students attend practical training in health ecology departments for a total of 45 hours. Upon completion of the 4th semester students have practical training in hygiene and epidemiology departments for a total of 45 hours, and after their 5th semester they have practical training in registered companies and services for disinfection, desinsection and pest control for a total of 45 hours. Finally, students attend practical training after their 6th semester in sanitary inspection services for a total of 90 hours.

Duting their clinical practice students write technical reports which are graded by clinical practice advisors.

Additionally, clinical practice includes the preparation of the final paper in the course of the third year (total of 90 hours).The final paper includes student independent field or laboratory work in the field of environmental health engineering. The paper is prepared under the supervision of a qualified mentor.

Through practical training students gain knowledge and skills in those areas included in the practice (health ecology departments, hygiene and epiedemiology departments, companies and services for disinfection, desinsection and pest control and sanitary inspection services). Competencies are described in more detail in the courses relevant to practical training.

Classes are is held in the form of field, methodical, laboratory and practicum exercises. After clinical practice students are required to submit their reports assessed by the practice advisor, upon which they receive a signature in their student matriculation books..

Students get a total of 11 ECTS credits for attending practical training and for satisfactory preparation and presentation of acquired knowledge through writing reports.Furthermore, the specified number of credits include the preparation of the final paper as well.

Clinical practice is the requirement for taking the their practical courses’ exams (Control of disease vectors, General and specialized epidemiology, Sanitary inspection).

In their 6th semester students choose the topic for their final paper.
